Ichimoku Kinko Hyo gives you a full structural read, but it stops short of telling you which crosses are worth acting on. Edo Cloud Signal Filter builds directly on the classical engine — the five lines on the 9 / 26 / 52 periods and the cloud projected 26 bars forward — and the same five-state classification, and then adds the layers that turn structure into a decision.
The classical base, and what it adds
The base is the classical Ichimoku read: the five Ichimoku lines, the Kumo cloud, and the synthesis of price-vs-cloud, cloud bias, Tenkan-vs-Kijun and Chikou confirmation into one of five discrete states from Confirmed Up to Confirmed Down. On top of that base, Edo Cloud Signal Filter introduces three layers — a filtered signal system, a multi-timeframe dashboard and a consensus score. Everything derives from one coordinated engine, so nothing on the chart can contradict the panel.
Layer one: filtered TK/KJ signals
Every Tenkan / Kijun (TK/KJ) cross is confronted against four independent structural filters before it is allowed onto the chart: the side of the cloud, the bias of the cloud, Chikou confirmation and MTF consensus. Only crosses that pass the active filters are drawn as a triangle; the rest are discarded. Each of the four filters can be toggled on or off, so you decide how demanding the system is. The point is not to predict the next move — it is to keep the crosses that agree with structure and drop the ones that do not.
Layer two and three: the MTF dashboard and the consensus score
The multi-timeframe dashboard runs the same state engine on four configurable frames (defaults 1H / 4H / D / W), so you can read the alignment across horizons without jumping from chart to chart. The consensus score condenses that into a single number on a fixed −8 to +8 range, summarizing how aligned the four frames are: strongly positive when the higher and lower frames agree to the upside, strongly negative when they agree to the downside, and near zero when they disagree. A fourteen-row panel and thirteen alerts round out the build.
How to read it, and who it is for
Read it from the top down: the consensus score first, to know whether the frames agree at all; then the state and the active filters on your working frame, to place the context; then the filtered triangles, which only print when a cross survived the structure. It is built for traders who already understand the five-state read and want the operative crosses separated from the noise across timeframes, rather than a single arrow on a single chart.
